This is a grass-roots fund raising effort fund raising event for the SOUTH ASIA and Pakistani QUAKE Relief fund. We invite you to a fund raising dinner to help raise much needed relief money for this devastated region (still in desperate need of relief funding).

Beneficiary: South Asia and Pakistani quake victims. All money collected goes directly to the Hidaya Foundation who is providing direct relief efforts in Pakistan and surrounding areas. The Hidaya Foundation is well known in the non-profit sector and has been acknowledged by: CBS5 - Video CNET News.com NBC11 News ABCGlobal KTVU SFGate 1, 2 Mercury News for it's non-profit work to serve the poor of South Asia, and else where.

Unlike other non-profits, the Hidaya Foundation dedicate 92% of money collected directly to relief efforts and only 8% goes to funding the non-profit foundation operations.

Osman Ergene ( osman@hidaya.org ), a volunteered Hidaya Foundation Representative will be on hand to answer questions about the organization's relief efforts. There is no minimum amount requested. The amount donated is up to you. Please bring your check book to make a tax deductible donation. All donations collected goes directly to the Hidaya Foundation's efforts to provide earth quake relief to the victims.

The Hidaya Foundation is a non-profit foundation which serves the poor of South Asia, and else where. Hidaya Foundation is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) educational and charitable organization with FEIN # 77-0502583. All donations are tax deductible.

Hidaya Foundation's President Waseem Baloch urgently appeals for donations; money is needed to purchase and deliver blankets, tents, sleeping mats, food and medical kits to the devastated region.

Emergency appeal for financial aid to support some 30,000 families in the region bordering Pakistan, northern India and Afghanistan. Funds needed will be used to provide survivors with food, tents, mattresses, blankets, nutrient rich food supplements to prevent malnutrition especially for children and the elderly, medicines to prevent the spread of diseases, clean water supplies, cooking sets, and funding to provide ground support to deliver these supplies.

The managing partner, Mohammed Safdar, at Zafran ( http://www.zafranrestaurants.com ) have generously put together an at-cost dinner buffet for participants.

Dinner cost: is $10 per person prepaid only since we need to know the exact number of participants to effectively plan and organize this event. *Please bring money for tips if you feel that you have been well served by the restaurant staff.

The deadline to RSVP with your payment is Thursday 12/15/05 at 1130PM.

Mixed vegetable cooked with special blend of spices

+ Naan
+ Steam cooked Basmati rice

In recent news, the Hidaya Foundation helped raise aid for Hurricane Katrina victims and will embark on a disaster preparedness outreach program. The foundation will team up with the local American Red Cross, one of many organizations assessing the situation in South Asia. Some background information about the South Asia Quake:

South Asia and Pakistanis quake-stricken region issued appeals for relief as death toll and damage estimates climbed and as winter arrives in the region when thousands are left homeless.

The magnitude 7.6 earthquake -- Pakistan's worst ever -- was felt in three nations. Tens of thousands were killed -- including children in schools -- when the quake and a powerful sequence of aftershocks caused weak structures to crumble.

Landslides swept away entire villages. Roads were buried in rubble. Electricity and water supplies, gone. More detailed information about the quake is available at http://hidaya.org
